Ken Loh has received a Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), it has been announced. Loh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Comparative Medicine and joined the Institute of Biomolecular Design & Discovery at Yale West Campus in 2022.
ORAU’s annual awards provide funds to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty.
Using tools in chemical biology, the Loh lab studies brain-body interactions at a molecular length scale. Specifically, they are interested in the molecular interactions between the autonomic nervous system and organs that is important for regulating physiologic processes like blood glucose and metabolism.
“This award is valuable because it enables our lab to develop new technologies for mapping these interactions in living animals, and we are excited about the prospect of applying them across a wide range of biological applications.”
The awards recognize faculty members for their work in any of five science and technology disciplines: engineering and applied science; life sciences; mathematics and computer science; physical sciences; and policy, management or education. GDIT’s award funds research in supply chain innovation.
