Dear Campus Colleagues,
Welcome to the webpage for all you need to know about this year’s Yale-United Way Campaign at West Campus! As President Salovey has said, in this turbulent period, many more families in New Haven and surrounding towns are experiencing hunger, homelessness, unemployment, and challenges to their mental and physical health. The United Way of Greater New Haven is our partner in meeting our neighbors’ immediate needs while also rebuilding stronger, more equitable communities. We know that this year is different. The needs of many of our neighbors are even more compelling.
It is going to take all of us to mitigate the impacts and recover as a community, and we hope everyone at Yale’s West Campus will join together to help out.
While we are unable to gather in person, this year our team of organizers have designed a host of fun virtual events for the West Campus community to enjoy, and an opportunity for you to donate needed items right from your desks!

Cooking Masterclass with Chef Chris
Bring the West Campus Café direct to your home! For a suggested donation of $10 - or any contribution big or small - join us October 19th at 7pm for this special cooking masterclass with West Campus’ own Chef Chris Jamilkowski! Sustainer in Chief of our campus community, Chef Chris has donated his time to share with you the secrets of his legendary pierogi recipe! Sign up today and we’ll send you a list of ingredients so you can follow along in this live broadcast!
Welcome Home Kits
As a family leaves a shelter and enters a new home, they need supplies to make it a home of their own. This year we’ve made it easy for you to purchase items for the West Campus United Way drive. Follow these instructions to make your purchases online or in person. But don’t delay - be sure your items arrive by October 21st!
Trivia Night!
The famous West Campus Trivia Night returns! Join friends and colleagues on Thursday, October 29th at 7pm for an evening of fun competition! Nature, movies, sports, and of course science! Gather your housemates and family to pit your whits against the best minds at Yale! Contact jessica.criscuolo@yale.edu to sign up today and pledge your $5 entry fee in support of United Way! We’ll send you the Zoom link and take care of the rest.
