Yale Young Global Scholars explore West Campus science and technology

Over 200 high school students arrived at West Campus June 23 for three days of learning, exploration and inspiration as part of the 2016 Yale Young Global Scholar Program. This summer, due to overwhelming interest in STEM subjects and entrepreneurship, the program is running three day-long sessions at West Campus, enabling students to explore Applied Science & Engineering; Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Biological and Biomedical Science; and Sustainability, Energy and the Environment. The scholars participated in guided tours and lectures at the West Campus Materials Characterization, Imaging, and Analytical Cores; Yale Center for Genome Analysis, Yale Center for Molecular Discover; solar array; and Yale Landscape Lab to see where science is taking place, as well as technological advances that are being implemented at West Campus. The summer sessions bring talented high school students to Yale from a truly global community for two weeks of academic immersion and leadership programs.
