The West Campus Student and Postdoc Committee
WELCOME!
The West Campus Student and Postdoc Committee (WSPC) is the primary programming group for junior scholars on Yale’s West Campus. Our focus is on helping create the best experience for trainees on West Campus - from undergrads, gradutaute students, postdocs, or junior scholars in the collections, our programs support all academic disciplines on West Campus.
The Committee is staffed by four Coordinators: Zheng Wei (Institute of Biomolecular Design & Discovery), Caroline Brown (Nanobiology Institute), Anita Onuoha, (Yale School of Nursing) and Atrouli Chatterjee (Nanobiology Institute). The West Campus student community is also supported by two Office of Graduate Student Development & Diversity Fellows - Josie Jayworth (Energy Sciences) and Uzoji Nwanaji-Enwerem (Nursing).
Our events are inclusive and open to the entire West Campus community. Current projects include:
- Building community on campus by coordinating fun events such as happy hours and networking socials, or participating in campus-wide events such as the annual United Way Campaign
- Providing opportunities for professional development through the annual All Points West conference, technology talks, or through teaching and writing workshops
- Partnering with West Campus Administration to ensure everyone has a good exprience on campus.
Participating in committee events is a great way to meet fellow trainees from around West Campus, and we usually have free lunch or refreshments! We’re supported in our events by staff at Yale West Campus Administrion, who we also work with on student and trainee ideas about life on campus. We partner with organizations across Yale, and frequently host events with the West Campus Anti-Racism Working Group and the Office for Graduate Student Development & Diversity.
