VIRTUAL: WWN, YVN, FLY, & WorkLife Parenting Check-In

Join the next parenting check-in session on Wednesday, December 16 at 1:30 pm via Zoom. The check-in will serve as an opportunity for Yale community parents to check-in, share tips and tricks and concerns about our new normal of being parent(s), continued work responsibilities, and now the additional responsibility of homeschooling and managing the nuances of having babies and toddlers at home instead of daycare. The conversation will be a safe space for us to positively communicate and learn and grow from each other.

Practical High Performance Computing (online)

This workshop follows our “Intro to HPC” workshop, expanding on parallelism and efficiency considerations. The workshop will review compute cluster architecture and proper job allocation. It will also cover a number of ways to make use of parallelism to improve performance of programs running on the cluster including:
- SimpleQueue
- High level parallelism in languages like R and Python
- Multi-threaded C programs
- MPI
Monitoring your jobs to understand their resource requirements and to make sure they are running efficiently, will also be covered.
