Chemistry-Biology Interface Training Program Seminar

The Yale Institute of Biomolecular Design and Discovery, Yale Department of Chemistry, and Yale Postdoctoral Association present a Chemistry-Biology Interface Training Program Seminar: “The invention of MK-7602 as an excellent case study to answer a fundamental question: What is required in a molecule for it to be a drug? presented by Dr. Manuel de Lera Ruiz, Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry, Merck, and Dr. Cesar De Leon, Senior Scientist, Merck. A lunch lecture and discussion on the advances of novel drug candidates against Plasmodium parasites.

West Campus Wildlife Walks – Fall Migrants

This series explores the nature trails, woodlands, and natural landscape of Yale’s West Campus. Join the fall migrant bird walk, hosted by the Yale Peabody Museum in partnership with the Yale Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage.

Meet at the West Campus Conference Center at 9:00 a.m., rain or shine, for a round-trip walk of around 1.5 miles. Sturdy footwear is recommended and binoculars are supplied. There will be refreshments at the West Campus Barn.

Meet in the West Campus Cafe and talk books over lunch!For our first book we will be discussing Automate the Boring Stuff with Python: Practical Programming for Total Beginners.
These days Python is extensively used in scientific research. This social event allows our colleagues to hone their programming skills.
