CANCELED: Self Defense Class at West Campus

West Campus Administration is again coordinating Self Defense Classes to be held in the open room next to the fitness center, taught by Christopher Adamchek, a Yale Research Assistant and 4th Dan black belt in Goju Ryu Karate. Chris has 23 years of martial arts experience in this type of karate. It is an 8-week crash course on practical self-defense with the aim of supplying simple tools that can be applied in a variety of ways against various attacks. The classes will take place Wednesdays, 5:30pm-6:30pm, from March 25 through May 13, 2020.

It often takes courage to say no and it can be challenging for people to hear. But setting limits sets us free. Saying no opens up more chances to say yes to the right things. Join Diane Frankel-Gramelis, Public Health Practice Manager at the Yale School of Public Health, for this empowering workshop and learn how to give yourself permission to say, ‘No’, and set boundaries without feeling guilty, mean, or selfish.

Mindfulness, Character Strengths & Engagement Workshop

Experience how mindfulness, character strengths and engagement- three well-researched domains - can help you feel better, think better and interact with others better! In this experiential workshop, participants will learn about and experience some of the evidence-based benefits of practicing mindfulness as well as the importance of recognizing and utilizing character strengths and how these are vital to engagement and why that matters.
